New Processes For Accreditation
Effective January 1, 2015, residency and fellowship education programs seeking ABPTRFE accreditation must undergo new procedures, which include applying for, and obtaining recognition as a developing program followed by applying for and obtaining candidate status.
The American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) is the accrediting body for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for postprofessional residency and fellowship programs in physical therapy.
Accreditation is the process used by APTA to ensure the quality of the education that participants receive in residency and fellowship programs in physical therapy. It is a voluntary, nongovernmental, peer-reviewed process that occurs on a regular basis.
ABPTRFE Accreditation Services Committee applications are now being accepted. Nominations are due by November 30, 2014. Learn more.
