The Johns Hopkins Hospital Critical Care Fellowship
Johns Hopkins Hospital, a world leader in healthcare, has developed a Physical Therapy Critical Care Fellowship with focus on medically and surgically complex patients. The 13 month curriculum features intense learning, leadership, focused clinical exposure to patients with critical illness, and participation in ongoing clinical research with world-renowned clinicians.
The Critical Care Fellowship gives clinicians the opportunity to focus on persons acutely critically ill and those recovering from critical illness; integrating both standard and innovative interventions. This Fellowship allows for collaborative effort of clinical practice, concentrated didactics, and classroom-teaching opportunities designed to prepare the Fellow to practice at the highest level of care in the acute care setting. The Fellowship also prepares the physical therapist to develop and actively participate in research and early mobility programs in institutions across the nation and world. The Fellow will graduate from the Fellowship at a clinical and professional level well above his/her peers.

The content areas are meant to prepare the fellow to successfully practice within a diverse critical care environment across patient diagnoses in accordance APTA accreditation. The curriculum is set up to progressively build upon previous experience and ensure that the goals, objectives, and performance outcomes for the fellowship program are met.
