The Ohio State University Neurologic Residency
The Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program offers high quality clinical, educational, and research opportunities to prepare physical therapists to become board certified neurologic specialists through its partnership with the OSU Division of Physical Therapy. The mission of the program is to graduate practitioners with advanced knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors that will shape the future of neurologic physical therapy through research, education and patient care.

This one-year program starts in mid-August and includes the following: 27 hours per week of non-mentored clinical practice,3 hours per week of mentored clinical practice, 3-4 hours in resident/physician conferences and/or didactic coursework, 4-8 hours teaching in neuroscience and neurorehabilitation courses, and 4 hours attending specialty clinics or shadowing health care professionals. Residents have the unique opportunity to treat patients with diverse neurologic diagnoses across the acute, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. Each resident spends time working in the NeuroRecovery Network (NRN) that provides state-of-the art rehabilitation for individuals with spinal cord injury at Dodd Hall, a nationally-ranked rehabilitation center. Residents also participate in clinical research and complete a case study during their residency year.
