University of Michigan-Flint Neurologic Residency
The University of Michigan-Flint Neurologic Residency is accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association as a post-professional Residency program for physical therapists in neurologic practice. Our mission is to graduate physical therapy residents who will demonstrate knowledge and skills in advanced neurologic practice, scholarship, and leadership by providing evidence-based clinical and didactic curriculum, patient-centered care, and opportunities to engage in clinical research, advocacy, and professional development.

Residents will receive one on one mentoring from specialists in Neurologic physical therapy at the University of Michigan Health System at Ann Arbor, Michigan (http://med.umich.edu/). Admission starts in Fall semester. University of Michigan Health System is an award-winning health care system and premier academic Level I medical center. Residents will complete 12-month clinical rotations through the continuum of patient care, including Neurologic ICU/acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation and concussion clinic, and outpatient rehabilitation.

The program curriculum is designed to bridge the gap between entry-level physical therapy education and the knowledge required for advanced practice. In addition to clinical mentoring and direct patient care, residents will enroll in didactic courses offered fully online through the University of Michigan-Flint.
