At the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning (Brooks IHL), our culture of excellence is built upon the strength of our educational programs and our reputation is molded by the expertise of our faculty. As a division under the Brooks Rehabilitation umbrella, the Brooks IHL provides advanced training in rehabilitation with multiple credentialed residency/fellowship programs and continuing education addressing diverse clinical learning opportunities. Brooks Rehabilitation is one of the busiest free-standing rehabilitation hospitals in the country, discharging nearly 3,000 patients per year. We have a continuum of care including home care, outpatient services, vocational rehabilitation, and adaptive recreation. In addition to the expansive clinical network, Brooks also has a clinical research department to bring cutting-edge rehabilitation directly to our patients. As full time Brooks employees, our residents enjoy a generous salary and full benefits for the year in program. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, the city boasts professional sports teams, great beaches, and other enjoyable ways to spend your down time.

The Brooks Orthopaedic Residency Program, credentialed for Physical Therapists by the ABPTRFE, is one year in length and consists of three components that include didactic/psychomotor classes, clinical mentoring and supervision, and directed learning activities. This program collaborates with the University of North Florida and local health care experts to help prepare physical therapy residents to successfully pass the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification exam in Orthopaedics. The Brooks/UNF Orthopaedic Residency is a prerequisite for the Brooks IHL Sports Residency Program which is currently in development.
