Our curriculum began its roots in 2004 as a year-long mentoring program for physical therapists. Since then, the curriculum has evolved based on the clinical experience and on-going education of our faculty, as well as emerging scientific evidence. The CBPT Orthopedic Residency provides comprehensive training in both the art and science of orthopedic physical therapy to prepare the resident for effective clinical intervention. We offer a systematic approach to patient care integrating several well-respected and proven methodologies. Our mentorship focuses on evidence enhanced practice, observation skills, local to global manual therapy and exercise prescription, and seamless treatment of the mechanical and neuromuscular systems. Majority of our Residency faculty are orthopedic certified specialists with at least 10 years of clinical experience. A few also have advanced certifications in other focused areas such as Functional Manual Therapy®, Applied Functional Science®, Movement Links®, Spinal Manipulative Therapy™, and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists®. Acceptance is based upon interest and talents demonstrated during the interview and patient shadow experience.

Key highlights of our program include:

    One-on-one mentoring 2 hours/week
    One-on-one patient-related discussions/planning/shadowing 1 hour/week
Comprehensive curriculum instructed by CBPT faculty
10 small group weekend courses covering each region of the body
CBPT sponsored in-house continuing education course
