University of Minnesota Geriatric Residency
The University of Minnesota’s Geriatric Clinical Residency is accredited by ABPTRFE as a post professional residency program for physical therapists in geriatrics. This residency provides physical therapists a unique opportunity for advanced training in the area of geriatric physical therapy via clinical practice, 1:1 mentoring, extensive didactic education (delivered both through face to face sessions as well as home study modules), teaching, and service learning. Clinical faculty are geriatric experts in a variety of disciplines. Through the context of the “live” didactic modules, residents see a variety of clinical settings in the Minneapolis—St. Paul metropolitan area providing a continuum of care to older adults. Residents earn CEU credits for all of the didactic modules (230+ hours). In addition to full-time employee benefits at their respective contracted clinical site, residents also receive MN state APTA conference registration, CSM registration & travel assistance.
