Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Movement System Fellowship
    The regional mentoring fellowship program provides an opportunity for physical therapists to receive fellowship training while still living and working in their home locale. The fellowship provides one year intensive training to promote therapists’ abilities to critically and systematically establish diagnoses for movement impairment syndromes, select interventions and facilitate patient’s achievement of optimal functional status. Fellows will receive 150 hours of 1:1 mentoring close to their home locale by mentors that have been trained and approved by WU. In addition they have monthly interaction with WU Faculty along with web based education and 4 onsite education seminars throughout the year. The fellowship provides outstanding training for the professional physical therapist interested in attaining specialized skills in the practice of orthopedic physical therapy with an emphasis on movement.

Important Dates Interview notification will be sent by 4/13/2018. The interview date will be 4/27/2018 via Business Skype. Onsite education seminar dates are as follows: August 10-12, 2018; September 28 thru October 2, 2018; January 18-21, 2019; and May 31 thru June 2, 2019.
Program Prerequisites
Courses Familiarity with concepts related to Movement System Impairment Syndromes. Completion of Introduction to Concepts is highly recommended.
Certifications OCS certification or eligibility for certification. NOTE: Next application cycle will require an OCS certification or confirmation you graduated from an Orthopedic Residency.
Experience The ideal applicant will have worked 2-3 years in an out patient orthopedic clinical setting. Applicants can replace this experience by completing a clinical residency in orthopedics. Possession of a clinical specialization in orthopedic (OCS) is a plus. Fellows are required to practice in an outpatient orthopedic setting to allow practice of their new skills for 2-2 1/2 days a week or 640 hours for the year. *Please be aware board certification or completion of a residency will be required for eligibility to apply for a fellowship for the next application cycle.
