University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of Physical Therapy Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship
UIC Fellowship in OMPT is a university-based program located on the UIC medical campus in the West Loop area of Chicago. The program has 8 faculty members with diverse educational training, all of whom are AAOMPT Fellows. Fellows in training receive 4 hours of 1:1 mentoring each week. Every 4 weeks a new mentor is assigned, thus allowing the student to be mentored by the entire faculty. The program includes 16 graduate credit hours. In addition, fellows in training serve as laboratory assistants for musculoskeletal coursework in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Because manipulation is taught at the entry-level at UIC, this provides a vibrant learning opportunity for the fellow in training.

A unique aspect of the program is the significant educational experiences provided in pain science and the exposure to a medically complicated patient population, many with chronic pain. This provides a challenging but powerful learning experience for the student.
