Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Sports Residency
    The Baylor Institute for Rehabiliation (BIR) Sports Residency is a 52 week program that is designed to provide residents with a 12 month intensive study in the area of sports physical therapy, preparing the residents to sit and pass the sports specialty exam administered by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). The program includes direct patient care, venue coverage, mentoring time, didactic education, projects and presentations. The program is currently only accepting applicants from current employees of BIR with a minimum of one year experience with the company.
    The resident's caseload consists of sports patients as defined in the APTA description of specialty practice (DSP). The resident's caseload is adapted as indicated for clinical mentoring. Resident will carry a full-time equivalent caseload based out of BIR-Dallas Carroll Ave Clinic. Beyond a clinical caseload, the resident will also be required to complete a minimum of 200 athletic venue coverage hours over the course of the residency.
