Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Sports Residency
    The mission of the Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Sports Physical Therapy Residency is to advance the physical therapist resident's preparation as a provider of patient care services in the area of sports physical therapy with a specific emphasis in the prevention and treatment of upper and lower extremity injuries, and sport-related concussion.

    The goals of the program are to:
    A. Develop clinicians with advanced clinical decision-making skills with an emphasis on managing physically active individuals involved in sports-related activities.

    B. Educate and train highly skilled clinicians who are well prepared to achieve specialty certification in sports physical therapy.

    C. Create an environment to encourage participation in clinical research that promotes the advancement of the sports physical therapy profession.

    D. Produce clinicians who are well equipped to become leaders in sports physical therapy at the local, regional, and national levels.

    E. Provide an atmosphere that fosters participation as part of a multi-disciplinary team to optimize the management of sport-related injuries.

    F. Ensure quality, evidence-based instruction across all sites in which the sports physical therapy residency is delivered.
