Harris Health System Orthopedic Residency
    Housed within the nation’s largest medical center and part of the largest medical teaching facility, Harris Health System offers unmatched access and exposure to a wealth of different healthcare providers as well a diverse patient population spanning the continuum of orthopedics. Harris Health System Orthopedic Residency Program, the first full-time residency program in the state and first orthopedic residency in Houston, offers residents an unmatched experience in providing excellent care in the public health setting. The program offers a unique orthopedic curriculum including a strong emphasis in differential diagnosis, manual therapy, pain science, exercise prescription, and mentorship on clinical teaching. Our teaching and mentoring faculty include: 9 FAAOMPTs, 15 OCS', 1 PhD, and 1 ScD. We have a 95% pass rate on the orthopedic board certification exam with 23/24 passing on the first attempt. Graduates of the Harris Health Orthopedic Residency have gone to earn PhD, FAAOMPT, become assistant and adjunct university professors, residency faculty, as well as serve in local, state, and national appointed positions. Our program is designed to not only facilitate therapist who are experts in orthopedic PT, but to also develop future leaders and mentors.
